本片改编自同名小说。贝多芬（古田新太 饰），众人心中的孤高天才，原来竟是秘书一手捏造的“神话”？本片揭开历史迷雾，讲述一个粗俗邋遢的真实贝多芬，如何在忠实秘书辛德勒（山田裕贵 饰）的笔下，被改写成永垂不朽的圣人音乐家。

　　在蜿蜒流长的亚马逊河流域的雨林深处，生活着古老而神秘的舒尔族。他们与世隔绝，以食人蛇为叩拜图腾。围绕着舒尔族人的传说和秘密让雨林之外的人们振奋不已。人类学家史蒂文•凯（埃瑞克•斯图尔茨 Eric Stoltz 饰）对舒尔人颇感兴趣，他和纪录片导演泰莉•劳瑞（杰妮佛•洛佩 兹 Jennifer Lopez 饰）组成一个七人摄制组，前往雨林为这神秘的部族拍摄纪录片。路上，他们搭救了一个名叫保罗•沙龙（琼•沃纳 Jon Voight 饰）的男子，保罗自告奋勇带摄制组寻找舒尔人，却不曾想这个男人的真正目的竟是寻找一条恐怖的食人巨蟒。蒙在鼓里的史蒂文等人就次踏上一条充满血腥的不归路……　　本片荣获1998年ALMA拉丁媒体艺术奖最佳女主角奖（Jennifer Lopez）、1998年BMI百代最佳电影音乐奖、1998年世界动画庆典最佳3D制作。
