　　无数次的灾难与战争，让人类的数量锐减，似乎也因此使得宇宙变得更加宁静。而今人工智能机器人已在宇宙间占有绝对的统治地位，人类却只有两成左右。虽然科学极大进步，可惜人类无法突破寿命的百年限定，他们匆匆而来，默默而终，不知不觉走向灭亡。　　带有浓重昭和气息的宇宙飞船中，生活着编号为722的人形机器人铃木洋子（神乐坂惠饰）。她与AI机器人相伴，永远奔波在漫长的宇宙旅途中。她的日常百无聊赖，洗衣服、缝扣子、剪指甲、打扫卫生，孤独与静寂永无止境。洋子是一名宇宙快递员，她所投递的货物却都是些看似无关紧要的小物件。每次投递需要花费数年时间，纵使瞬间旅行已成可能，不过她却似乎有什么理由消磨这漫长的时光。一颗孤独的星球上，仿佛被全宇宙所遗忘的人类，在破败的街道上等待着远方的造访……

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
