　　故事发生在上世纪90年代的一个美国小镇上。扎克和乔西从童年时就是最好的朋友，他们每天一起骑车上下学，放学后一起玩耍，甚至喜欢上同一个女孩。然而平静的生活在某天下午被彻底打破了。聚会因大麻而失控，朋友达里尔在教室里失血过多身亡，男孩们恐慌无措地要彼此发誓保密，扎克简单的生活仿佛被撕开了一道巨大的口子，整日被罪恶感压迫地喘不过气，乔西则索性不再上学，甚至不再走出家门一步。曾经密不可分的两个男孩在数日后便产生了不可逾越的鸿沟……

　　寅次郎收到莉莉從沖繩寄來的信，原來她在夜總會唱歌時暈倒入院，還說：「臨死前，很想見寅一面」。寅馬上趕到沖繩照顧莉莉，縱然闊別了五年，兩人的感情有增無減，莉莉休養期間，寅更隨傳隨到，旁人都以為他們是夫妻……淺丘瑠璃子演的莉莉第三度登場，叫寅再三考慮「結婚問題」。山田自言「這是我最愛的作品之一」，渥美清去世後，山田在《男人之苦》系列中只選了本片(加插新片段)推出特別版來紀念這位一代巨星。　　Upon receipt of a letter from Lily telling Tora that she would like to see him before she dies, Tora rushes to Okinawa, where Lily has fainted during one of her performances. Although five years has passed since they parted, the former couple continues to care about each other, and Tora nurses Lily to health. The personal favourite of Yamada Yoji , Tora-san's Tropical Fever was the only film re-released (with added scenes) by the director to commemorate Atsumi Kiyoshi after the superstar's death.

　　The film tells of how street sweeper Alonso (played by Roberto Álamo) and tarot reader Marisa (Malena Alterio), the proprietors of a delicatessen Torres and Fátima (Jordi Sánchez and María Botto), plastic surgeon Calatrava (Julián López) and influencer Vicky (Kira Miró) have booked a house in the middle of nowhere on the Canary Islands, where they hope to spend the best holidays of their lives with their respective broods.　　What they don’t know is that, because of a mistake made by the travel agency they used, they have all rented the same house. And none of them is willing to back out, although there is not much of an alternative anyway, which means that they will be forced to share the same living space for the whole of the summer. The glaring differences between each and every one of the occupants will turn these days into a chaotic series of entertaining and messed-up situations. Despite this whole disaster, they have to learn how to live together and how to understand all of these wildly different people – and, above all else, themselves.
