　　阿秋（黄秋生 饰）曾经是一名训练有素的警察，如今，已经退休的他当起了出租车司机，和儿子东东过着相依为命的生活，尽管辛苦，但充满了温情与快乐。某日，阿秋的前妻突然出现在了他的面前，此时的她已经成为了黑社会大佬赵中天（龙方 饰）的妻子，她此行只有一个目的，那就是将东东从阿秋的身边夺走。　　失去了唯一的儿子，阿秋在悲愤之中陷入了绝望，他得知赵中天即将带着东东前往美国，他们可能再也无法相见，情急之下，阿秋将一所小学里的学生们当做人质，希望能够借此夺回东东。卓立人（赵文卓 饰）是身手了得的保安，祁红（黎姿 饰）是经验丰富的记者，在他们的帮助下，阿秋能否实现自己的愿望呢？
