Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　堪萨斯的农民威廉（克林特·伊斯特伍德 Clint Eastwood ）年轻时曾是出名的杀手和劫匪，然而当遇上了克劳迪亚后，他的生活开始彻底改变。威廉和克劳迪亚结婚生子后，洗手不干，一家人过着幸福的生活。好景不长，克劳迪亚不久故去，威廉独立带着两个孩子过着清贫宁静的生活。　　这时，该地区发生了一起牛仔醉酒殴打妓女并将其毁容的恶性事件，坏蛋警长达格特（吉恩·哈克曼 Gene Hackman 饰）只将此事草草了结，凶手仍逍遥法外。当地妓女纷纷捐钱，要求悬红1000美金请杀手来伸张正义。“思科菲尔德小子”找到威廉，要求合伙干这票买卖。为了给孩子们一个幸福富足的家庭，威廉终于答应再次出山。

本片改编自足立绅同名小说，电影版是包括未公开场景的导演剪辑版本。年过40却依然不受欢迎的编剧、没有收入的废柴丈夫·柳田豪太（风间俊介 饰），与吃软饭一样的丈夫和儿子一起维持生活、拒绝丈夫的邀请、还破口大骂的可怕妻子·柳田千花（MEGUMI 饰），两人之间展开了又笑又哭的夫妇故事。
